American Baptist International Ministries
Dan & Sarah Chetti
Three months after Jessi was born, she was abandoned by her birth mother, a MDW from Sri Lanka, and her father, also a migrant worker from India. Jessi spent her early childhood in a Christian orphanage in Beirut, where she first heard about Jesus and accepted him to be the true God. Jessi is now 25 years old, pregnant and in prison. She was imprisoned by police who were trying to get to her boyfriend, a well-known drug dealer. When Sarah met Jessi, she appeared strong and determined, although she would frequently lapse into depression and sadness. Jessi said she has forgiven her parents even thought they abandoned her and believes, “They did what they could to help her and themselves.” At 5 months pregnant, Jessi  is not getting proper medical care or nutritious food. So when we go on weekly visits to the prison, Dan and Sarah take her fruit and milk. Jessi has a strong character and is a survivor; she attributes this to her faith in Jesus. In prison, she has rediscovered her faith in Christ and is trying to live as a witness to him.

ACPM (Adams Christian Prison Ministries)

ACPM is looking ahead to the new year and will be integrating a monthly community prayer gathering. Each month, ACPM will gather in one of the local churches in the greater Gettysburg area to pray for the prison ministries, volunteers, prison staff, and those incarcerated (just to name a few). Please pray for the families of those incarcerated. Pray for the volunteer program and for the power of God’s kingdom to transform the lives of the leaders, staff, contractors, volunteers and inmates.

Samaritan’s Purse

Samaritan’s Purse volunteers cleaned out the mud and the waterlogged items following Hurricane Helene. Through the witness of hard-working volunteers and chaplains, people realized their need for an eternal savior. About 225 people gave their lives to Jesus in the first four weeks of our hurricane response. Please continue to pray for victims of Helene as they begin rebuilding their lives.
